My Story
Behind Brice & Beyond, a career shaped by leadership, resilience and delivery.
My professional journey began in higher education as a lecturer, before I moved into public service with HM Prison Service. There, I learned calm decision-making under pressure, strong boundaries, and how to support people through challenge. Prior to joining the Prison Service, I also served as a Special Police Constable for six years.
Career highlights include being named Special Police Officer of the Year for West Mercia in 1995 and West Midlands Prison Officer of the Year in 2009.
While working in the Prison Service, I became a staff trainer, gaining my training qualifications and developing a practical, engaging, action-led style that helps people build skills and confidence quickly.
After leaving HM Prison Service, I completed a BA (Hons) in Business Management at 41. I then moved from the public sector into the corporate world, working in project and portfolio roles including Project Officer and Portfolio/Project Analyst. I later shifted into more people-focused work as a Colleague Representation Consultant, representing and supporting 8,000 colleagues, and went on to work in risk and assurance as a Conduct Risk Senior Consultant.
I’m a published photographer and writer, with experience across travel photography, weddings, theatre cast headshots, and sports and event photography.
Outside of work, the outdoors has always been my reset button. I grew up playing team sports, representing Worcestershire in both hockey and squash, and earlier in my career worked as a summer Outward Bound instructor, leading activities such as hiking and archery.
In recent years, I’ve built a life around adventure, travel and confidence-building experiences from regular low-cost trips abroad to a 25,000-mile, 42-day trip around the world in 2025. I love a mountain day and have completed all four peaks of the UK and Northern Ireland, alongside many more mountains, munros and summits in between.
I’m also a passionate golfer and known for hitting the ball a long way. I won the European Long Drive Championship in 2004 with a 312-yard drive and competed at the World Long Drive Championships the same year.
Brice & Beyond moved from dream to reality and is now up and running, supporting private and corporate clients through coaching, workshops and experiences that help people move forward with clarity and confidence.
